"Emil!! Hurry up or you're going to be late!!" The loud Dane yelled through the house to wake up his youngest brother.

"Ugnn..." Groaned the young male.

"Emil!! You don't want to keep (Name) waiting, do you?!" Yelled the Finn as he put the dishes in the sink to be washed.

"WHAT?!" Yelled the suddenly woken up Icelandic male. Jumping out of bed, he quickly got washed up, and dressed. Giving himself a quick look over, he sighed.

Emil Stelisson, the youngest member of the household of five. He lived with his older brother, Lukas, and his other three friends, Tino, Mathias, and Berwald. And it was because of the Finnish male that Emil met his best friend, (Name). And after two years of knowing her, he finally came up with a plan to confess his feelings for her.

Emil straightened his brown jacket that he wore over his white shirt, his brown pants and shoes. He ruffled his silver hair so it was out of his violet eyes. He gave himself a small smile. "Well, here goes everything." He murmured before running out of his room and down to the dining room where her brother and friends were waiting.

The stoic Swedish giant, Berwald, was sitting at the table reading his newspaper. The cheery Finnish man, Tino, was sitting next to him finishing up the last bit of his breakfast. The loud Danish man, Mathias, was finishing off his first beer can of the day. Lastly, Emil's brother, the monotonous Norwegian man, Lukas, was washing the dishes.

"About time you got down here!" Mathias said to the youngest member of the house.

Emil rolled his eyes at the Dane and moved towards the door.

"Oi! You should at least eat something!"

"I don't have time! I'll be late meeting (Name)!" Emil snapped.

"Exactly why I packed up a sandwich for you." Lukas said as he pointed to a wrapped package on the counter next to him. Emil blinked gratefully. He walked over to the counter, and reached for the small parcel, only to be stopped by Lukas' arm. He furrowed his brows and looked up at the older male. "What do you say?" Lukas asked him, his deep blue eyes meeting Emil's bright violet.

"Not a chance." Emil replied with a glare. He reached over Lukas' arm, grabbed the wrapped food, and dashed out the door. Hoping he wasn't too late to meet (Name).

~~~~~~
Panting, Emil made it to the meeting spot for him and his friend. The two decided that their meeting place would be in the park near the patch of Mountain Avens. Somehow, the city managed to get them planted and keep them healthy in this kind of climate. He didn't question it, but he knew that he liked how they were able to grow here. Sitting on the park bench, he let out a sigh of relief.
It seemed that (Name) wasn't there yet. Worriedly, Emil checked his watch. He was a few minutes early, but he couldn't help but think that she might stand him up. She wouldn't do that to him, not her best friend...
... Right?
"EMIL!!"
The Icelandic male jumped straight to his feet after someone practically screamed in his ear. He blushed and looked behind him to see the (h/c) female who he had been waiting for.
Crouched behind the bench where he was sitting was (Name). Her (h/c) locks were hanging away from her face, showing her (s/c) face and her bright (e/c) orbs, which were gleaming up at him with friendliness and mischief. The female stood up straight and walked over to the blushing Icelandic male.
"(N-Name)! I told you to stop doing that!!" Emil complained to his friend.
(Name) giggled at his blushing face. "Yeah, I know. But it's been a while since I saw your face that red, and the last time I saw it was when Mathias scared us while we were watching a scary movie!" (Name) replied with a grin.
Emil sighed at his friend, then looked her over. She was wearing a black vest over a (Color besides black) collared blouse. She wore (Any color besides black and the color of your blouse) jeans and black boots. He blushed softly at her, that was one thing that he loved about her, her beauty.
"Emil~ Your face is red!" (Name) said with a grin.
"I-Is not!" Emil protested. Then why are your cheeks so warm?
"Yes it is! And you're stuttering too!" (Name) pointed out.
"I-I am not!!" Then why is it so hard for you to get a word out?
(Name) laughed and gave Emil a kind and happy smile. "It's good to see you, Emil." She said, without a hint of teasing in her voice. She sat on the bench and patted the seat next to her. "Well, you wanna sit?" Sh asked him, patting the seat.
"Y-yeah." Emil replied shakily as he sat down next to her friend. The two sat in a some-what awkward silence, he didn't know what to say to her, and she was his best friend for God's sake!
"Emil, what's that?" (Name) asked as she pointed to the small parcel in his hand.
"O-Oh, this? Lukas gave it to me for breakfast, I kinda rushed out the door so I didn't have time to eat it." Emil replied, realizing how hungry he was.
"Same old Emil, forgot to eat his breakfast. If you don't eat the most important meal of the day, you're never gonna get bigger!" (Name) laughed as she nudged his shoulder.
"Stop that!" Emil blushed, "You sound like my brother." He mumbled.
"You're who?" (Name) asked.
"My brother..."
"One more time?"
"My big brother, alright?!" Emil shouted, his face was bright red and his eyebrows were furrowed in anger.
(Name) laughed, wiping away tears from laughing so hard. "I know, Emil! I'm just teasing you and wanted to see if you'd say it!"
Emil sighed and unwrapped the parcel of wax paper. It was a normal breakfast half sandwich, butter on toasted bread, sliced hard boiled egg, and ham. Only, it was cut into two pieces.
Damn it, Lukas. I can get a girlfriend without your help. Emil cursed his brother.
"Seems like Lukas was kind enough to cut it for you." (Name) teased lightly.
"Y-yeah, I guess." Emil replied softly. He glanced over at (Name) who was admiring the Avens. Nervously, he held out the unwrapped parcel with the two slices of sandwich. (Name) heard the rustle of the paper and looked Emil's way. "W-would you like the other half?" He asked her.
(Name) looked from him to the sandwich. "But it's your breakfast, I don't want you to be hungry, Emil." She said, her eyes actually flashing a bit of worry.
"No, it's fine. I don't mind sharing." Emil replied, his blush managed to go down, but not much.
"You sure?" (Name) asked again.
"Of course I'm sure. You're my best friend, after all." Emil replied, flashing her a rare smile.
(Name) laughed softly. "Yeah, thanks, Emil." She thanked her friend as she took one half of the sandwich. Emil nodded and took the other half, biting into it. Like always, well done on the cooking, Lukas.
"What do you think?" Emil asked her.
"Like my good friend Vash always says: 'It tastes like sandwich.'" (Name) said, quoting her Swiss friend.
~~TIMESKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY MR. PUFFIN~~
"So, where exactly would you like to go in the mall?" (Name) asked as she and the Icelandic male walked into the entrance of their shopping mall.
"Wherever you feel like going is fine." Emil replied. He wanted (Name) to have a good time that day so she would be in a good mood for his surprise later that night. Speaking of which, he had to get something for her for that night...
"Emil! You coming?" (Name) asked as she stood a good few yards away from him.
"R-right!" Emil replied as he ran to catch up with her.
"Geez, you're so slow!" (Name) complained as she crossed her arms.
"S-sorry..."
(Name) sighed. "Emil, you can't apologize so easily. You need to show some backbone and stand up for yourself, if it's me or your brothers, show how strong ya are!" She told him as she gave his shoulder a light pat. "A young guy with some backbone, that's what a girl likes in a guy!"
Seriously? Girls fall for muscle-brained idiots like Dane? That idiot couldn't hold down a girlfriend for a month! "Come on, I'm sure that not all girls care about that." He told her.
(Name) shrugged. "I wouldn't say that, some girls do."
"Do you go for guys like that?" He asked her, actually curious.
(Name) looked over at him. "I dunno. Guys with muscle for a brain isn't really my type." She replied.
As the two walked, Emil relaxed a bit. This was just another outing with his best friend... Who happened to be his object of affection right now.
SLAM!!
"AAH!!"
Emil was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the crash and (Name's) squeak of surprise. When he looked over at her, (Name) was sitting on the ground rubbing the back of her head, while in front of her sat a young man, who had also fallen down. His dark, choppy brown hair hung below his jaw, his dark brown eyes were looking at (Name) with an annoyed glint, his rather thick eyebrows furrowed. He wore an oversized hoodie with jeans and black sneakers. It appears that he was listening to music when he bumped into (Name).
"You know, you could watch where you're going." The stranger muttered.
Emil recognized the voice. "L-Leon!!" he exclaimed.
The dark-eyed male looked up at the Icelandic young man with surprise. "Emil? I didn't think I'd find you here." Leon said as he stood on his feet.
"You know this guy?" (Name) asked as she stood as well.
"Yeah, Leon and I went to the same high school." Emil replied to her. "Leon, this is (Name)."
Leon gave (Name) a glance over before he turned to Emil, "She your girlfriend?" He asked, ever so bluntly.
Once again, for what seemed like the tenth time that day, Emil's face bloomed a blush so bright red, it would put any prize winning tomato to shame. "N-No!! She's not my girlfriend, she's just a v-very good friend of mine!!" Emil said to his friend, who was now smirking.
"Really, because it seems like it might be more of a friendship there, Emil~" Leon hummed, teasing his friend.
Emil ground his teeth, grabbed (Name)'s hand, and quickly walked away from the dark haired and dark eyed man.
Once the two had gotten to the fountain in the center of the mall, Emil sighed and sat down on a nearby bench. Was everyone out to get him today?
"That Leon's quite the character, isn't he?" (Name) asked with a laugh as she sat next to him.
Emil nodded. "You have no idea..."
"He doesn't seem like he's from around here, was he an exchange student in your high school?"
"He was, actually. He came from Hong Kong and stayed with me and my brothers, the year after he took me to his place and I met his family." Emil replied.
"What was it like?" She asked, her eyes chiming with curiosity.
"Different, I didn't have Dane yelling with his friends when they were drunk, and I didn't have Lukas always hovering over me." He said with a small laugh.
(Name) laughed with him. "Your brother and housemates are really nice, Emil. Sure Mathias is loud and annoying sometimes, but all in all, Ber and Tino are nice, and so is their little cousin, Peter!" She squealed, remembering when the small sailor boy visited while she was hanging out at his place.
Emil sighed. "I suppose you really like my place. You're always there."
"Because I like the people who live there." (Name) replied with a smile that always seemed to make his heart skip a beat. Her eyes seemed to catch a gleam near the fountain and she moved to get a closer look. She laughed when she picked up the glittering object. "Emil! Look! Lucky pennies!" She laughed as she held up the two shining copper coins.
Emil stood from his seat and walked over to his friend. "If God throws money in your path, pick it up." He told her the old saying with a small grin.
"Let's make a wish in the fountain!" She said to him with a smile.
"A wish in the fountain? What are you, three?" He asked with a hint of teasing in his voice.
(Name) pouted at her friend. "Come on, Emil! What would happen if your wish came true?" She asked him.
'You would see how much I care about you.' He thought. She sighed and took one of the coins. "Alright, I'll bite." He said to her.
"Yay!!" (Name) yelled with glee. She pulled the Icelandic male back over to the fountain. The two had their backs to the fountain as they held their coins in hand. "Ready? Make sure you close your eyes, alright?" She told him.
"Yeah, yeah. I know." Emil sighed.
The two closed their eyes and threw their pennies behind them, listening for the two plinks as they fell into the water.
"Alright! Now let's hope our wishes come true!" (Name) cheered.
"What'd you wish for?" Emil asked her.
(Name) gave him a playful punch to the shoulder. "I can't tell you that! If I do, my wish won't come true!"
"Always superstitious, aren't you?" Emil asked her.
"If I'm not, who will be?" She asked, crossing her arms.
"She has a point, Little Brother." Added a voice that caused shivers to run down the said boy's spine.
Emil quickly turned and saw that his fears had come true.
There stood the ever stoic Lukas, and next to him were his two friends; the bushy eyed, bad tempered Brit named Arthur, and the every happy and mischievous Romanian, Vladimir.
"Friends of yours, Lukas?" (Name) asked the Norwegian male.
Lukas nodded. "Ja, Arthur, Vladimir, this is (Name), a friend of Emil's." Lukas introduced his little brother's friend.
"Nice to meet you both." (Name) said with her usual friendly smile.
"As it is you, love." Arthur replied.
"Hard to believe that Emil got himself such an adorable girlfriend such as yourself." Vladimir chuckled happily.
Emil and (Name) both blushed. "G-girlfriend?" (Name) asked, stuttering suddenly.
"Vladimir, she's just a good friend!" Emil shot at the Romanian.
"What? Are you sure?" Asked Vladimir. "Well then, I suppose she might like to get some coffee with me?" He asked, a small smirk growing on his face.
"N-No thank you..." (Name) replied, inching closer to Emil.
Vladimir laughed. "I'm just joking, of course! After all, if I did that to Lukas' little brother, I have no idea what he'd do to me!"
"Speaking of which, Little brother, you never said it this morning." Lukas spoke up, crossing his arms.
"Said what?" Emil asked, raising a suspicious brow at the older blond.
"You know what I mean, now say it." Lukas demanded.
"I will not! I'm not a little kid anymore! I'm not going to say it!" Emil argued.
"Big Brother."
"Shut up."
"Big Brother."
"I'm not saying it."
"Big Brother."
"I won't say it!"
"Big Brother."
"Why can't you just go away?!"
"Big Brother."
"ENOUGH!!!" Emil cried. Quickly turning, he grabbed (Name)'s hand once again and stomped away from the three other young men.
"Was that really neccisarry?" Arthur asked.
"Maybe not, but you can't blame me for trying." Lukas shrugged.
"He has a point. Emil must like that girl a lot." Vladimir said with a chuckle.
"Indeed he does." Lukas replied.
Soon, Emil found an actal quiet spot where the two could actually have some peace and quiet. It was a small little gift shop that sold small little trinkets and souvenirs. Emil's face was painted with a red blush that didn't seem to be going away anytime soon. He sighed and looked over at (Name) who was looking at him questioningly.
"Emil, what was that all about?" (Name) asked, putting a gentile hand on his shoulder.
He sighed, "I'm sorry, (Name). It's just he gets on my neves so much when he does that, plus, I just wanted it to be you and me today, not my other friends, not my brother and his friends, but just you."
(Name) blinked in surprise, then smiled at her friend. "You're very sweet, Emil."
Emil blushed softly and nodded. "Of course, (Name)." He murmured to her.
(Name) laughed slightly and ruffled his hair. "You're really fun to be around, Emil."
Emil shook her hand out of his hair. "Yeah? So are you." He replied, ruffling her own (h/c) locks.
Laughing, (Name) shook his hand away. "Well, since we're in here, why don't we browse a bit, hm?" She asked.
"Alright." Emil replied.
The two browsed through the small shop, laughing at the cheap trinkets, gazing at the glass jewelry, and admiring the postcards. That is, until something caught Emil's eyes.
In the shop hung a black and white letter jacket with white sleves. On the front left chest was a letter "" for "sland". On the back had a embroidered Icelandic flag, and a puffin. "This is just what (Name) will need for tonight..." He murmured.
"Emil! You find anything?" (Name) asked as she walked over with a bag in her hands.
Emil turned to her and nodded. "Yeah, what do you think of this hoodie?" He asked her.
"The hoodie?" (Name) asked while giving it a look over. She nodded and chuckled. "It fits you, Emil. I like it!"
"Really?" Emil asked.
"Yeah! I mean, you were born in Iceland, and you love puffins." (Name) stated.
He nodded. "Yeah, you're right." He replied, taking the jacket form the rack and heading to the counter to buy it.
"Will this be all for you, sir?" Asked the older man with a smile.
"Yes, this will be fine." Emil replied as he dug through his pocket for his wallet. He handed his credit card to the man and turned back to (Name) who was waiting behind him. "What's in the bag?" He asked her.
"This adorable little scarf!" (Name) replied as she pulled a black scarf from the bag. It had white fringe and a small puffin patch sewn onto it. "Isn't it cute?" She asked him.
Emil nodded. "Very cute."
"Here you go sir, have a nice day." The clerk said to Emil as he handed him a bag which contained the jacket.
"Thank you." Emil thanked him quickly as he took the bag, he turned to (Name). "Ready?" He asked her.
"Yup!" She chirped happily, linking arms with him and walked out of the store.
"Have a great date, you two!" Called the clerk just as the two left the store.
Emil's face bloomed in yet another blush. How many people were going to terrorize him about (Name)?! Wasn't it enough that he was nervous about just confessing how he felt to her? Obviously not to everyone else in the world!!
"Come on, Emil. It's almost lunch time!" (Name) called out to him. "Let's go eat somewhere where we don't have to wait too long."
"Oh, yeah. You're right about that." Emil replied. "I'm sure we can find someplace that isn't too crowded.
"Let's go then!"
"Yeah."
~~~~

"How much farther?!" (Name) complained as she and Emil continued their night hike up in the mountains.

"Not long, now stop complaining!" Emil told her as he held the flashlight.

The two had a good afternoon, they had a good lunch at a caf, they went to movie, and now to finish it off, Emil was going to confess at just the right time.

"Emil, why are we walking in the mountains at night anyway?" (Name) asked for a bout the fifth time.

"I told you, it's a surprise!" Emil exclaimed back as he broke through the trees. Grinning, he walked up to the top of the grassy mountain and smiled at the view over the large lake. He turned behind him to see that (Name) was still lagging behind. "(Name)! Hurry up!" He called.

"I'm coming, okay?!" She yelled back as she made it up next to him. When (Name) looked up at the view, her eyes widened. "Emil! This is beautiful! Where'd you find this?!" She asked him.

"I was hiking out here and I stumbled across this lake. What do you think?" He asked her.

"What do I think?! It's beautiful!! I love it!" (Name) cried, jumping into his arms.

Emil, caught off guard by the sudden jump hug, spun her around and with a grunt, fell to the ground. (Name) on top of him, Emil propped himself up on his elbow.

"Are you alright, Emil?" (Name) asked.

"More or less." Emil replied.

The (h/c) girl rolled off him an stared up at the starry night sky. "This place really is pretty." She murmured.

"Yeah, it is." Emil agreed.

"Brr..." (Name) sat up, rubbing her arms. "I didn't even notice how cold it was..." She muttered.

"Good thing I bought this, then." Emil said as he brought out the jacket that he bought earlier that day.

"You're jacket?" (Name) asked him.

"Actually... I bought this for you, (Name)." Emil replied, placing the letter jacket over her shoulders.

"Why me? I thought you bought it for you."

"I did ask if you liked it." Emil reminded her with a grin.

(Name) chuckled. "You didn't have to do that, Emil." She said to him, as she fixed the jacket to it was completely on.

"Yeah, I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to." Emil replied. He sighed, standing up. "(Name), there's been something on my mind, recently."

"Yeah? What?" (Name) asked as she stood next to her friend.

"I've been thinking about our friendship. I mean, we've known each other for years, and we're best friends." Emil spoke. He looked over at the girl who was giving him a questioning look. "I've been thinking that we should change something about it."

"What's there to change? We're best friends, we know everything about each other, what could you do to make it different?" She asked him.

"(Name), I want to end this relationship of us as friends." Emil spoke coldly.

...

"What?"

"Let me ex-"

"End our friendship?! Emil!! Why the hell would you say something like that?!" (Name) yelled at him.

"(Name)-"

"No!! Shut up for a minute or two and listen!! Why would you do that to me, Emil?! You're my best friend!! And after knowing each other for so long, you just decide to give it up?!" She yelled, on the verge of tears. (Name)'s (e/c) eyes were shining with hurt and rage, they were building tears quickly as she glared at him. "An just to think I started liking you more as a friend!! You do this to me right out of the blue!! How horrible could you be, doing that to a person who you care about?!"

"(Name)!"

"WHAT?!?"

"Look!"

(Name) turned from the young male to the sky, which was lit up with many lights of blue, green, and purple. They moved across the sky with such beauty and grace, they made the stars shine even brighter.

"E-Emil..."

"This is the aurora lights, (Name). I remember you telling me that you always wanted to see them, and I thought that by showing you this, I would be able to tell you why I really took you out today." Emil explained.

"And that reason is?" (Name) asked, wiping away a tear.

"g elska ig... I love you, (Name). I've loved you for years now, and I had no idea how to tell you. So I guess that after all this time, I was finally able to build up my courage to tell you..." He explained. "Also, when I said that I wanted to end our relationship as friends, I mean that I wanted us to start a new relationship. As boyfriend and girlfriend."

(Name) stared wide-eyed at the Icelandic male. Her eyes began flowing out tears as she hugged him tightly. "You idiot. Of course I will." She mumbled. "I've loved you too, Emil. I just didn't know how to say it either... I guess we're nothing kinda clueless when it comes to love, huh?"

Emil chuckled. "Yeah, I think so."

The two laughed together and watched the aurora lights as they shined throughout the night sky. Emil turned to (Name) as she watched. Her eyes were wide and bright, her smile was cheerful and happy, everything about her seemed so carefree and loving, he couldn't help but smile himself.

(Name) caught sight of Emil staring at her. Turning her head, she smiled gently at him. Tilting her head and leaning close to Emil, (Name) pressed her lips onto his gently. The two held the kiss for a few moments before breaking apart, pressing their foreheads against each other's.

"I love you, Emil."

"And I love you, (Name)."

~~TIMESKIP~~

"We're home!" Emil called as he and (Name) walked through the front door.

"Oh! Welcome back, you two!" Tino greeted as he walked over to them. He could already tell that today went more than smoothly.

"How are you, Tino?" (Name) asked him with a happy smile.

"Wonderful, thank you!" Tino chirped in reply.

"Yo! Emil!! Did you and (Name) hit it off?!" Mathias yelled as the stormed into the room with a can of beer in hand.

"Idiot." Emil muttered as he rolled his eyes.

(Name) laughed. "What do you expect from him, Emil? A diploma from the best school in the world?"

"At least something from like a fast food restaurant college." Emil sighted

"Now that might be asking too much." stated the monotonous Norwegian man as he walked in.

"Aw come on, Norge! Can't ya be nice to me? For one night?" Mathias asked as he slung an arm around his shoulders.

"No." Lukas replied, grabbing ahold of Denmark's tie and giving it a hard yank.

While Tino, Emil, and (Name) watch the Norwegian choke the Dane, Berwald sat on the couch reading a newspaper. He looked up once, viewing the scene, then looked back to his paper.

"Looks like there will be more than five here, now." Berwald spoke softly as he listened to the chocked screams of the Dane.
